Why will someone learn English?

In every society communication is necessary. In the human society there is a diversity of languages. The variety of languages is sometimes a big issue. We need to communicate in nowadays world through many ways because countries interact. We travel, our relatives move. These new cultures we move in involve also new languages.
You can probably live in a country without speaking their language,but why will someone learn English when he or she is in USA? The answer to that question will depend on the purpose of the person who came to USA. Not everyone came here to achieve the american dream.

Some people came to USA just because they were brought to. It is like they were forced to. Not that someone put the gun on their head, but they did not really have the choice to disagree. The choices were very limited. For instance a person lived in a refugee camp. He is told that people who do not want to go back to their home countries will be settled to western countries.What choice did they have? They could not go back to their home countries because they fear for their lives. That is the reason they were refugees in that second country. If they had refused to come to the western countries ,they would have been sent even by force to their home country. The second country could not afford anymore to have them in his territory for security and financial issues.

Most of the people who feel like they did not want to come here, especially the more advanced age people do not intend to learn English. They feel like they can not start over.They will find a friend to translate for them wherever they go. This is made possible in USA by the presence of bilingual staff in most of the offices. The factory work can be done also without known the language. Actually you can have your basic needs satisfied in USA without speaking in English.

Ambitious people will need to learn English in order to succeed in USA. Speaking fluent English plus the fact that you already speak another language is a big advantage. It can open you doors to jobs that you never excepted to have. Every time you apply to a job and to your qualifications you add a foreign language spoken is more valuable.

English is not hard to learn.If it was a place where people interact more that will not be an issue.For example in Africa it can take you more than two years to learn a language in a country that you move to. When you wake up, your neighbor greets you. He will talk to you . During the days people talk to each other. Here capitalism is even preseent in families relationship. It is about money. Work , gain some money, and live the american way of life.

It will not make sense to have to pay the language in some countries in Africa. you can learn it a home .English is easy but the american culture is hard. Back then stress is a strange concept. People used it by language misuse.They do not know what they talk about.You have to come here to learn about stress, to feel how important family , friends or people to talk to are.

Each deed you make has consequences. A good act can have a bad consequence and a bad decision can produce a good thing. You have to weigh and if you get what you want. Then you are fine. You have to focus on the positive thing.

Learning English is the only way to accomplish the american dream. Come from nowhere but be someone. It is not a bad thing to start over. It is good to learn something new. We do not lose anything by learning English. On the contrary we gain more than others.

Sorry that I talk to much. To sum up I am learning English because I intend to achieve my american dream. I will be Somebody someday. I will improve my life and get a better job, not to say that my present job is bad. It just that I think I deserve more. English is just a step. I have alot more languages to learn such as spanish, arabic , swahili and chinese. I know people think I dream too much. My dreams brought me here , without them I am no one. What is a life without dreams?
